The entrance courtyard of Villa Ulimare with a large palm tree, the gate and potted plants

About us · Vieste · Gargano

A family-run residence in Vieste

Villa Ulimare was born from a love for our land and a family dream, grown among centuries-old olive trees. Today we still look after it ourselves, every day, living here alongside our guests to welcome them warmly, help them discover the Gargano and make them feel truly at home.

Our story

It all began among these olive trees

  1. Lea’s land

This land, inherited from Lea’s family, still has its centuries-old olive trees, with at least 150 years of history to tell.

  2. A small dream

About thirty years ago Lea and Michele decided to make a dream come true: the first six apartments for guests. Back then, we lived in town.

  3. Our “campagna”

Lea and Michele’s greatest dream was to live here, surrounded by nature. That’s what they fondly call this place: “la campagna”, the countryside. Here they built the home of their dreams, and they’ve lived in it for more than twenty years.

  4. Pool among the olives

A few years later came the pool and the big renovation. We designed the pool in the middle of the olive trees without touching a single one.

  5. Today

There are now eight apartments. Each of us has our own home here, and we’re still the ones who welcome you.

    The Founder

    Michele

He began his career very young, in Switzerland, working in large five-star luxury hotels, where he gained solid experience in hospitality and hotel management. Later he passed his skills on to new generations, teaching hotel operations at a hospitality and catering college.

Today, a lifetime of experience goes into welcoming you.

    The Manager

    Raffaele

Lea and Michele’s son, an experienced programmer, he studied marketing and now runs the residence and its promotion. He’s almost always the first to reply to you.

Raffaele’s partner, with degrees in medicine and international relations, she speaks 4 languages fluently, which is why she looks after guests arriving from other countries, and from Italy too.

A tribute to our town

Vieste mia

Still from the Vieste mia video: the lighthouse, the old town, a trabucco at sunset and the words Raffaele Lopriore, Vieste mia

By Raffaele and Roxana ·

Some places are more than a home: they’re roots, memories and emotions.

“Vieste mia” was born of our deep love for our town, and of the wish to tell the story of its beauty, its roots and the strength of its people.

A thank-you to its sea, to its history and to everyone who holds it in their heart: a heartfelt tribute to a town that never stops making us fall in love with it.

Frequently asked questions

Who runs Villa Ulimare?

Our family: Lea and Michele, who founded it, their son Raffaele, who runs it today, and Roxana, who organises the apartments and, with her natural kindness, takes care of welcoming every guest. No agencies and no call centres.

Do you really live on site?

Yes, for more than twenty years: our homes are here, close to the apartments. That’s why you’ll find us day and night.

How long have you worked in tourism?

For over 35 years. And Michele’s experience in hospitality goes back even further.

How old are the olive trees?

At least 150 years old. They were here before our grandparents: and it’s precisely because they’re so precious that we built the pool around them.

Do you speak English?

Yes, and Italian, German and Romanian too.
